Now i always thought that DA was a site for artists to post art. If you want to get a start as a porn star, why not post naked pictures of yourself on a porn site. All of these wanna be porn stars are just taking focus off of what the site was made for, the artists.

Now granted, photography is art, porn however is not. Sadly these people get away with this because the administrators just like everyone else are horny little bastards and like to see titties and ass. Its saddening that the already struggling newer artists cant get anywhere because of the masses, but now they have to contend their art up against titties and ass pics on the main page.

Dont get me wrong, i like seeing people do the dirty deed as much as the next person, and i love to see people show off their bodies proudly, but in the proper places and where it isnt going to hurt the people the site was originally made for.

We start class with what has to be the least informative lecture ever. Then we are given about 30 minutes to book it across town to the Denver Art Museum. The class always goes long no matter what because of this. Each week we had to write a 3-5 page critique on the gallery we visited. This usually means that I get to go back again and wish that the owner decided to open his doors that day. I don't mind the writing so much. typical page MLA format. The problem was that for the first month I never got any feedback. I had no idea that I was not doing things his way and my first 4 papers were graded low. I hate this guy.

At the end of the presentations, last week, he finally gives us the details and deadline of the final project. a 25-35 slide 10-15 minute presentation/critique of a fine artist. I got Manet. It's due in 5 hours from now.

The only major anecdote I've had as of late would be a customer who was absolutely positive that we had an item that we simply didn't have in stock. I know, I know, finding a particular pair of jeans in a certain size shouldn't be an issue, but when you hit the larger sizes your odds of getting a pair at the tail-end of a massive sale decrease significantly. As such, despite telling her that they weren't there in every single variation possible, she stressed that the fact that she bought a pair there several weeks ago proves me wrong.

I guess she didn't get the difference between "we do not currently have any pairs in stock" and "we've never had anything like that in the world in this store." Either that or she was using her magnificent ability to disavow reality in order to will a pair of pants into existence!]]>
